Irish Defence Forces Honour
The Irish Red Cross will bestow a very special honour on the Irish Defence Forces in recognition of the extraordinary humanitarian work of the men and women serving as peacekeepers overseas.
2018 marks the 60th Anniversary of Ireland’s first peacekeeping deployment in 1958.
Since then, Ireland have maintained the longest unbroken service on the front line of peace with over 70,000 individual tours of duty completed by the men and women of Óglaigh na hÉireann.
Judging Criteria
Entries will be judged on the following:
- How the nominee(s) made an outstanding contribution to humanitarian work/issues
- How many people were positively impacted/reached/influenced/educated by the work of the nominee(s)
- The sustainability of the difference being made by the nominee(s) on the lives of others.
- How the nominee(s) and/or their story is inspiring others to make change
- How compelling the manner in which you tell your/your nominee(s) story is
